We all change in every moment and we often don’t recognise our younger selves because we forgot how we perceived the world back then. Leaving can be a similar act and signal leaving a concept behind or letting it rest while outwardly things remain the same. Your art reminds me a lot of Beksinski but without the turpist element and more existentially surreal like Dali. It fits your writing.
Thank you, Luc. You understand the quiet gesture at the center of it: that not every departure signals loss, sometimes it is only a change in the lens.
I love your phrasing — “leaving a concept behind while outwardly things remain the same.” That is exactly the sort of metamorphosis that resists spectacle.
Beksinski and Dalí both tried to paint the transition state between the visible and the unseen. I suppose this piece is part of that same attempt — to render the moment of reconfiguration before anyone names it.
And thank you, as always, for sustaining such a thoughtful dialogue across these constellations of posts.
I love the way that you write your posts and your kind of existentialism which is fairly rare because it feels both grounded and exploratory to me. It can be perceived from many angles just like we all see the universe differently. I also miss the era of personal blogs that were personal so I’ll lurk around some more if you don’t mind :’)
I’m very glad you’re here, Luc.
“Lurking” is a fine form of presence — the kind that listens before it speaks.
You’re always welcome among these coordinates.
And thank you for how you read — you make the space feel less like an echo and more like a dialogue.
