There are places where even the most luminous mask can be set down.
Not discarded. Not broken. Just…resting — beside the cup you warm your hands around, beside the quiet stack of books you promised to return to when the noise outside quiets down.
You do not have to explain yourself here.
The hush understands.
Some days, you carry more than one face — one for safety, one for service, one for the hour that demands more brightness than you have. But here, none of them are required. Here, the light comes filtered, and the hush doesn’t ask for performance — only presence.
So you sit. Or maybe you hum.
Or maybe you listen as the leaves remember your name.
And when you are ready, you may lift the mask again.
But you’ll know, this time:
You are not the mask.
You are the one who made it —
and the one who dares to take it off.

you are not unfinished.
You are simply unfolding
in a language the dark understands.
